Jendayi A. Stafford is originally from Virginia, but now resides on Whidbey Island, just off the coast of Washington. She is a licensed minister, a therapist, a child mental health specialist (CMHS), a certified child and adolescent trauma professional (CATP), a public speaker, as well as a published author and co-author. She earned a masters in psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy, a masters in organizational leadership, and a graduate certificate in human resource management from Brandman University. She is currently in her second year of her PhD in psychology program at Walden University.
Jendayi has experience working with children/adolescence, adults and families who have been impacted by trauma, anxiety, depression and neurodevelopmental disorders. As a former registered behavior technician (RBT), she has experience working with children and young adults with diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder using Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). Prior to entering the mental health field, Jendayi served six years in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman.
Jendayi is the founder and owner of Mission Counseling, LLC. Mission Counseling, LLC provides counseling services for adults, children and teens, as well as life coaching services. Mission Counseling, LLC also hosts a number of various workshops, seminars and trainings spanning across many different subjects including self-esteem, emotion regulation, trauma, writing and publishing, and personal development.
Jendayi has personally been impacted by mental illness. She understands the shame and guilt that can occur within an individual who is battling mental health issues. Jendayi has since made it her mission to be able to share her testimony with others who may be going through a similar issue. No one has to fight this battle against mental illness on their own!
