Born December 10th, 1991, Tiffany Phoenix Date is an author and transformational speaker whose life mission is to spark a new era and reframe, how communities of color relate to mental illness. Through telling her personal story of struggle and hard-won triumph over chronic depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and borderline personality disorder, Tiffany inspires those who have experienced mental illness, to lay down the burden of shame and step into the most radiant, supremely powerful version of themselves.
She passionately believes that the mind has the power to heal itself and teaches that with strong faith and access to the right resources, mental illness is beatable. Tiffany is an avid student of psychology and devotes much of her time to the research of developments in neuroplasticity and psychiatric treatment. Coupled with her own experiences, these passions led her to found Phoenix Rise Inc in October 2018, a blog devoted to giving people of color a platform to share their mental health stories, make connections, and share advice on how to overcome mental illness.
Tiffany has a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from St. John’s University in Queens, NY and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts degree in clinical mental health counseling. Presently, she works as a housing specialist for New York State assisting minorities and other marginalized people to find affordable housing in the New York City area. In her leisure time, she is a level 10 sports fanatic, nature lover, and self-proclaimed music connoisseur. She lives in Jersey City, NJ with her loving husband, Kamil and rambunctious cat, Zorro. All her work is dedicated to her occasionally crazy, often overbearing, but always loving Grenadian family, especially her late, beloved grandmother Agatha who taught her the six words that changed her life, “aspire to inspire before you expire”.
